The US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) has recorded a nearly 400% increase in sextortion reports since 2018. This notable increase highlights the need to address the complexities of sextortion. With the rapid advancement of AI in image generation and the increase in cases, this has raised significant concerns. Join us as we discuss the intricacies of sextortion, how it can happen, best practices for supporting targets/victims, and essential insights on how to protect yourself and today’s youth in the digital age.

Discussion topics will include:

  • Best practice for detecting AI-generated images
  • An overview of tools developed to identify sexually explicit content, including material generated by AI, as well as its effectiveness
  • An analysis of the diverse applications of AI in generating text, images, videos, and voice content as well as its implication for privacy and exploitation
  • Investigating the evolving landscape of AI-generated pornography and discussing strategies to mitigate its harmful effects
  • Strategies to mitigate risks and maintain control over digital identity and online interactions
